Gear Lubricants

From steel mill reducers to mini geared actuator devices lubricants serve to reduce wear and noise and increase gear train efficiency. In many instances gear boxes have been re-rated for horsepower and torque because of superior oil or grease formulations.

Controlling free motion, eliminating the need for special seals or extra fine gear finishes (to reduce noise) are additional cost saving properties available in well engineered greases. Synthetic fluid based greases can provide an overall cost savings due to the use of less expensive gear materials or manufacturing processes and reduced downtime for maintenance.
